Kapamilya Stars Aid In Relief Operations For Flood Victims

More Kapamilya celebrities have taken a break from their busy schedules to join the relief operations of ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kamilya for the victims of flooding last week.

The stars of “ASAP 2012” visited Brgy. Talipapa in Quezon City to hand out food and medicine and help in packing relief goods at the Sagip Kapamilya headquarters after their performances in the program last Sunday (August 12).

Sagip Kapamilya program director Tina Monzon-Palma  revealed the stars voluntarily spent their time and strength and engaged heavily in the relief efforts to help their flood-stricken kababayans in her interview on “Failon Ngayon sa DZMM” yesterday (August 14).

Tina also called out students and employees to help in packing and distributing relief goods starting Monday (August 20) and Tuesday (August 21), which were declared holidays by Malacanang. Register to be a volunteer at Sagip Kapamilya by calling 411-4995 and look for Jeng Del Rosario.

To date, Sagip Kapamilya has amassed a total of P20.5 million in cash donations and P12.5 million worth of in-kind donations such as rice, canned goods, biscuits, water, clothes, blankets, mats, and medicines.

'Princess And I Royal Caravan' Flocked By Legazpenos

Princess And I

More than 7,500 Legazpenos cheered Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla and Khalil Ramos of the hit royal teleserye “Princess and I” at the “Princess and I Royal Karavan” that happened at the LCC Parking Lot as part of the “Salamat Kapamilya” project of ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (RNG).

The ‘royal’ stars visited the region to personally give thanks for their continued support. The Kapamilya Network still reigns all over South Luzon with its total day average audience share of 18.8% compared to the 8.8% of GMA and 2.7% of TV5 based on the urban and rural audience measurement data of Kantar Media last July. ABS-CBN also soars high on primetime with its average audience share of 29.2%, triple of Kapuso’s 10% and very far from Kapatid’s 3.7% while ABS-CBN’s daytime average audience share rates 13.6% against GMA’s 8.2% and TV5’s 2.2%.

Daniel made girls feel weak at the knees when he sang “Prinsesa” and “Hinahanap-hanap Kita” from his self-titled album while Pilipinas Got Talent runner-up Khalil touched the hearts of many as he sang “Now We’re Together” and “Kung Ako Ba Siya”. Kathryn also charmed the audience with her sweet rendition of “Mula Noon Hanggang Ngayon” and made everyone dance when she belted out “Call Me Maybe”.

An on-site selling of the “Princess and I” album gave hundreds of Bicolanos a chance to sit at the VIP area where they could watch the stars up close.

“The Bicolanos welcomed us warmly. We thank everyone and we hope for your continued support for Princess and I,” said Kathryn, who portrays the role of Mikay.

Watch out for the next fun-filled Kapamilya Karavan at Naga on September 8 for the Penafrancia Festival where Coco Martin and other Kapamilya stars will join in. Stay tuned to ABS-CBN for more updates.

Binoe, Angel and Pokwang Reach Out To Flood Victims

No gust of wind or rainfall is strong and heavy enough for our Kapamilya stars. They went out of their way to help the victims of the calamity that struck the nation last week. Some of these stars were “TODA Max” lead-stars Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin and Pokwang.

While ‘Habagat’ hammered the country, Angel Locsin, with boyfriend Phil Younghusband, rushed to the supermarket to buy goods for the victims. According to the young actress, “I hope that people who have the ability to help will go out and show their care for others,” Angel said.

Robin Padilla didn’t care about the heavy rains. With the help of his wife Mariel Rodriguez, Robin cooked a huge amount of food that was shared to all his neighbors at West Avenue, Quezon City. He even posted a call for help through a micro-blogging site saying “Let us act Kabayani (depicting the words “kababayan” or countrymen, and “bayani” or hero), the rain will last until Friday”. Pokwang extended a helping hand by giving food and clothing to “Sagip Kapamilya”.

Meanwhile, Isabel (Angel Locsin) and Tol (Robin Padilla) will help their families and neighbors in the hit comedy series “TODA Max”. In the midst of the fight between his father Tatay Mac (Al Tantay) and boyfriend Justin (Vhong Navarro), Isabel will try her best to help the two find peace. Tol’s helpfulness, on the other hand, will be put to a test when a series of kidnapping happens at his son’s (Izzy Canillo) school.

Don’t miss “TODA Max”, with guest Cristine Reyes as the teleserye-addict social worker Joy, this Saturday (August 18) after “X Factor Philippines” on ABS-CBN.
